November 9, 2021
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Selkirk, MB – James Bezan, Member of Parliament for Selkirk-Interlake-Eastman today issued the following statement on the announcement by Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole on the naming of the Conservative House Leadership team and Shadow Cabinet:
“I am honoured to be promoted to the House Leadership team as Deputy Opposition Whip, Strategic Advisor and Co-Chair of the Question Period Planning.
“I have worked alongside Erin O’Toole since he was elected in 2012 and have always been impressed by his leadership skills and work ethic. I am humbled to have his confidence and trust to be part of his House Leadership team.
“This is a new opportunity to work more closely with my Conservative colleagues, including Blake Richards as Opposition Whip and Michael Barrett as my co-chair for Question Period planning. We are ready to get back into the House of Commons and hold the Liberal government to account.
“It has been an honour to serve on the Defence file for the last decade. I am always inspired by the service and sacrifices made by the members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families. They fight every day to keep Canada the true north, strong and free. I know they will be well served by my colleague the Hon. Kerry-Lynne Findlay who will continue to fight for the best possible outcomes for our troops. I offer her my sincere congratulations on becoming the new Shadow Minister for National Defence.”
